* We have a spayed, adult black/tan female available to a family/pet home. . . . . ready to go to a new approved family NOW. She is a retired Grand Champion. * We also have a female puppy available to a pet/family home. She will be sold on a Spay Agreement. Vaccines/deworming current. Has had her series of 4 puppy vaccines & rabies, plus vet exam. Happy, outgoing temperament. From champion parents with eye/hip genetic health testing done. See photo below . . . . .
- Show quality puppies are placed in approved, serious show homes.
- Companion/pet puppies are placed in loving homes on a spay/neuter agreement with limited AKC registration. Limited AKC registration will be given after I receive a copy of the spay/neuter certificate.
- Retired adult/champion show dogs available to pet/family homes will be spayed/neutered before going to new homes.
- Annual CERF eye exams and OFA hip certifications are done on adult breeding stock.
- New owners receive a sales contract/health guarantee, spay/neuter agreement (when applicable), vaccine/deworming record, breeder-certified pedigree (or copy of AKC pedigree for adults), copies of genetic test results done on parents of puppies or retired adults, and AKC registration (registration will be marked 'limited' for puppies sold with a spay/neuter agreement).
At Ky-Ann Cockers, our puppies can go to new homes at 8 wks. or older. Keeping the puppies with their littermates/mother longer provides necessary socialization, play, & teaches puppies bite inhibition. However, if I plan on keeping a puppy from a litter, I may keep some of puppies in the litter longer than 8 weeks of age (possibly up to 6 months old) in order to evaluate their body conformation and temperament for show and make my choice. Then, the remaining puppies will be made available to new homes. Permanent teeth do not come in until 5 1/2 to 6 months of age and the alignment of the permanent teeth must be correct for show competition. Dogs are considered "puppies" up until 1 year of age. So, even if you get your puppy at 5 - 6 months of age, it will still have the same fun-loving, playful, attitude of a younger puppy.
To be added to the Puppy Wait List, please email your request and include the following info: your location (city/state), phone number, choice of male/female, choice of color, and choice of puppy or adult (be specific with age of puppy. . . . "puppy" means any age up to one year old).
Prospective buyers of pet quality puppies or retired spayed/neutered adult dogs sold to family homes must pass a screening process which is done with a questionnaire sent via email. Results of the screening process determines which families are approved for a puppy/adult. All of our puppies will have tails docked/dewclaws removed, 3 dewormings with Strongid from our vet, will be current on vaccines for the age the pup is when it leaves our home, and will have had experience with baths/haircuts/toenail trims. We do not accept deposits to reserve/hold puppies. Puppies/adults are paid in full on the day they are picked up. If you are on our Puppy Wait List and circumstances change for your family resulting in you not being able to purchase a puppy/adult, kindly email us to let us know so we can remove you from the Wait List and consider another family instead. Thank you!
